The core part of the game is that a bowler delivers a ball from his end of the pitch to the batsman, who is "on strike" at the further end. There are 2 batsmen in the field at a time and the other team mates wait for their turn, whereas, the opposite team does the bowling and fielding. The sport can be divided in two types i.e. "first class cricket", a.k.a. test cricket that goes for three to five days. The other type is "limited over cricket" a.k.a. one day cricket, which usually has 50 or 20 overs.
The biggest event of cricket is the ICC Cricket World Cup. The 10 full member teams of ICC automatically qualify for the tournament. The associates are selected based on their performances since the last World Cup.
