Beyonce rose to fame with Destiny’s Child in the mid 1990s, but her career started much before than that. Indeed, it can be traced back to her school days where she won a talent show by singing John Lennon's Imagine. At the age of seven, she got nomination for the local performing arts award. Born and raised in Houston, she started to learn music at different music schools and also performed as a soloist with a Church choir for two years. Later she was selected for an all-girl entertainment group which was named Girl's Tyme. The group participated in a TV show Star Search, but lost it after which her father started managing the group. She also collaborated with her future life partner Jay-Z for Crazy in Love, the leading single of her debut album. She earned five Grammy awards for this album and also did her first solo tour in Europe, titled Dangerously in Love Tour. At that time, speculations were arising about differences in Destiny’s Child because of Beyonce’s solo career. But she joined hands with Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland again and the group released its album Destiny Fulfilled in 2004. After that, they performed at the very memorable final tour Destiny Fulfilled ... And Lovin' It. The group was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in March 2006, while Beyonce released her next album, B'Day, later that year. B'Day replicated the success of her first album by delivering many hit singles. Irreplaceable, Ring the Alarm, and Déjà Vu featuring Jay-Z (again) were appreciated the most. The deluxe edition of album, released in 2007, contained a duet with Shakira titled Beautiful Liar. B'Day earned her a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album and she reaffirmed her dominance on the concert front by covering ninety venues with her tour, The Beyonce Experience. Her movie career was also going great with exciting projects like The Pink Panther opposite Steve Martin and the hit musical Dreamgirls.
 
Ever since the start of her solo career, Beyonce has continued to surprise her fans with one thing or the other. The rumors of her relationship with Jay-Z were finally proven right when she married him in 2008. She also delivered a double platinum album I Am... Sasha Fierce, in the same year. With singles like If I Were a Boy, Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), Ego, Sweet Dreams, Diva, Halo and Video Phone it became her third consecutive number-one album in the US. With this album, she became the only female artist of the 2000s with the most top ten songs on the Hot 100 charts. Her corresponding tour, I Am..., was no less impressive as it earned more than 100 million dollars in 97 shows. With this album, she also set the record for winning the most Grammy awards on a single night by a female artist. She later took a break from music but was back soon with a bang.
 
In the recent past, Beyonce has come up with her fourth album, aptly titled 4, which contained another chartbuster Run the World (Girls). She was also featured on Lady Gaga's super hit single Telephone. The news of her pregnancy and motherhood also set some crazy records on Google and Twitter.
