Therefore, the song, Austin was released as his debut single. I Wanna Talk About Me was later released by Toby Keith, and went on to become a major success. Austin too became an instantaneous hit, spending five weeks on top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart.
Shortly after the release of the song, Blake Shelton moved to Warner Bros. Records, with which he recorded his debut album. The record produced some extremely popular songs, such as Ol' Red, a cover song by George Jones, All Over Me and various more as well. The album went on to be certified gold by the RIAA. On the 4th of February, 2003, Shelton released his sophomore album, The Dreamer, which also gained a gold certification by the RIAA, and produced numerous hits. Its lead single, The Baby peaked at the highest spot on the country charts and remained there for no less than three weeks. The other two singles, Playboys of the Southwestern World and Heavy Lifting also peaked at the number twenty four and thirty two respectively.
Blake Shelton soon went to work on his third studio album, which was entitled Blake Shelton's Barn and Grill. The record was issued in the year 2004 and this too, was given a gold status by the RIAA. Some of the most successful songs from the album were hits such as Nobody But Me, Goodbye Time, Some Beach, When Somebody Knows You That Well and many more as well. After the release of the album, Shelton also released a collection of the video songs from the record, called Blake Shelton's Barn and Grill: A Video Collection. Various songs from the album were featured in the television film called The Christmas Blessing, which starred Rob Lowe, Angus T. Jones, Rebecca Gayheart and Neil Patrick Harris.
Along with his music career, Blake Shelton has also appeared on television numerous times, on shows such as Clash of the Choirs. In addition to this, he was judged a talent competition called Nashville Star. Over the course of his decade long career, Blake Shelton has gained a large amount of success.
