The biggest achievement regarding this album was Chrisette Michele’s song Be Ok was given a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance a year later.

In 2008, Chrisette Michele began working on her second album, Epiphany. Meanwhile, she also showed the diversity of her interests by venturing into acting. She was a guest star in an episode of The Girlfriends, a soap on The CW. That episode was titled What's Black-a-Lackin'?. She also wrote the lyrics of I've Gotta Love Jones for Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. In January,2009, she released the title song of her album. It was an instant hit which clinched the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. 83,000 copies of the song were sold in the first week of its release. Her third studio album was released last year. It was titled Let Freedom Reign. It featured various genres of music which include hip-hop, R&B and dance-pop. The latter was evident in the song So Cool. Other singles which became very popular were Goodbye Game and I'm a Star. 42,000 copies of the album were sold in the first week and reached twenty-fifth spot on the US Billboard Chart 200.

Chrisette Michele has been involved in a lot of activities. In 2008, she toured the USA with her contemporary, Raheem DeVaughn, who like Michele is a soul singer. The tour was called the Art of Love Tour.  At the Evening of Stars: A Tribute to Patti Labelle, Michele put up two performances. She also did the Epiphany Tour last year to promote her second album. She is currently signed with Island Def Jam Music Group and a lot will be coming up regarding her latest album.
