His first album, the phenomenal Killin’ Time, released in 1989 spawned five number one Billboard hit singles, sold millions of copies and ended up bagging Clint Black the record of being the first male singer to have penned a top spot on the Hot Country Songs charts. The album itself debuted at number one and was a mega commercial and critical success. It won his six different Country Music Association awards in 1989; the same year his debut album was released. He was so successful that he was regarded as the second person in the top ten artists within country music expected to sell the largest number of albums in the coming years and broke yet another record by being a hit despite being a newcomer. In 1992, Clint Black released the album, The Hard Way, which was certified platinum, followed by No Time To Kill in 1993.
