Cold War Kids is a phenomenal indie rock band hailing from the city of Long Beach in the state of California. This indie rock outfit has been playing sensation indie rock for many years and has gather fans numbering in the millions. This EP was released through Monarchy Music in 2005 and the EPs Up in Rags and With Our Wallets Full were released in 2006 amidst tours and shows played by the band at various venues. In 2006, Cold War Kids were signed onto the label, Downtown Records, through which they released their first LP, Robbers & Cowards.
The next two years were spent in tours all over the US and in many parts of the world after which the band moved to Long Beach in California. Soon after, the band released its second album, Loyalty to Loyalty, an album that featured a good number of stories meshed in with philosophy and politics. The band was then interviewed by Blackbox Magazine and its album was positively reviewed and well received by indie rock lovers all over the US. This album was inspired by the work of a well known philosopher, Josiah Royce, who wrote a paper titled Loyalty to Loyalty in which he explained that the people in a community have to live with each other and help with each other instead of urging people that they need to rise above others and become the strongest.
Much of 2008 and 2009 found the Cold War Kids performing various shows on an extensive tour highlight their latest album. At the same time, this band started recording the album that would then be released as the EP, Behave Yourself. The album was then released through Downtown Records. Cold War Kids are currently hard at work on their latest album with fabled producer, Jacquire King, the man who worked on the last album by Kings of Leon as well as a number of other artists including Norah Jones.
Cold War Kids have been reviewed by such newspapers as The Guardian in which the newspaper interviews the band’s members and positively reviews the band’s work. The popular music magazine, Pitchfork, also reviewed the band and its albums by praising its songs and its various lyrics. Cold War Kids have also performed at the fabled festival, South by Southwest, SXSW, one of the most popular festivals in the whole wide world. The San Diego City Beat has praised the band to the point that it countered negative reviews of the band and the best known name in music magazines, Rolling Stone, has also praised the many songs that Cold War Kids has release and positively reviewed the unique flavor of indie rock released by the band.
