Colin Mochrie is a hilarious comedian who is also an actor having appeared in many roles in movies. He is perhaps best known for his role in the well known improve comedy show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, a show that was broadcast in two different versions; a British version for British English speaking audiences and a US version for Americans. Colin Mochrie was born in 1957 in Kilmarnock, within Scotland later on moving to Montreal in the province of Quebec in Canada. Thus, he is of Scottish Canadian descent and his awesome Scottish accent makes his comedy more funny.

During this time, Colin Mochrie wrote various plays and starred in three major productions as well as being the director of three seasons of work in the touring company. One of his earliest works was a five minute short version of a James Bond movie, starring himself, in which he performed similar stunts complete with a ski chase as well as a jumping off a cliff with a parachute. He then auditioned for the improv comedy show, Whose Line Is It Anyway? earning a slot in the show as a permanent cast member. He performed in this show for around ten years from 1988 to 1998 in its british version. Soon after, he joined the US version of the show which was hosted by Drew Carey, on the ABC channel. .
Colin Mochrie then starred on the US version of this spectacular improv comedy show from its starting in 1998 to its final episode in 2006. Alongside him was his friend and fellow improv comedian, Ryan Stiles. Some of his best acts in the show were when he had to act out scenes from a hat in which the audience wrote down scenes and Colin Mochrie had to act them out.
