Canadian music producer and Dubstep DJ, Datsik was born in 1988. His real name is Troy Beetles, and he belongs originally to Kelowna, British Columbia. While he has now established his own identity as well, most of his fame came from his associated acts with another producer from Canada named Jeff Abel, who works with an alias Excision. His main focus of interest stays Dubstep music, a form of electronic dance music having its roots in South East London, having an increased popularity among the younger generation in recent years.
 
Datsik was always interested in music, but a turning point in his life came when he had a chance to listen to Jeff Abel in 2008 while he was performing at Shambhala Electronic Music Festival. He was impressed and decided to work with Abel, and it was not very late after that performance that the two artists were seen performing together. The combined efforts resulted in some of the best performances people had ever witnessed. Datsik and Excision together released many albums in 2009 and 2010 that set new records for their sales. Critics as well as public both appreciated it alike, owing to the quality of work they produced. Apart from local shows, many of their shows were performed at international level, and are till date considered to be one of the best shows in Canada.
