Foo Fighters was formed in 1995 in America by Dave Grohl who formed this band after the dissolution of the band Nirvana. Dave Grohl wrote quite a lot music when he was in Nirvana which never got produced and after the formation of Foo Fighters, all work of Grohl was used for this band. Currently the band consists of Dave Grohl, who is the lead vocal, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett as band members and also Pat Smear who only performs in live concerts and William Goldsmith and Franz Stahl were the former members of the band.
Foo Fighters released their first album in 1995, Foo Fighters, which had singes like "this is a call", "I'll stick around", "big me" and "for all the cows" and also started touring. The second album of the band was released two years later in 1997 which was titled, the Color and the Shape and contained hit singles like "my hero", "ever long" and "monkey wrench". In 1998, the band released its third album with the name; There is Nothing Left to Lose which had the single, "learn to fly" and which made it to the US Hot 100 fro the first time. The next album was released in 2002, One By One, and had hit singles like "have it all", "low", "times like these" and "all my life". 2005 was the year of the release of the album, In Your Honor, which included singles like "miracle", "no way back", "resolve", "DOA" and "best of you". The latest album of the band was released in 2007 which was titled, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. As yet, the band hasn't released any new album but are touring and making new fans and entertaining the old.
Foo Fighters have also made several television appearances like in MTV: Viva La Bam Episode: Driveway Skate park and MTV: Live From Denmark in 2005, Fuse Rocks the Garden: Foo Fighters and in the episode: a Foo Fighters Thanksgiving in season five of Top Chef in 2008 and the band appeared in VH1 Storytellers in 2009.
For all their excellent work in hard rock and alternative rock, the Foo Fighters won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, Best Short Form Music Video, Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Rock Album, BRIT Awards for International Group and International Album and MTV Music Awards for Best Group Video.
