Gavin Degaraw is one of the most successful young singers and songwriters in the United States. He has released four music albums so far and several of his songs have topped the charts in different countries. For this album Gavin wrote all the songs himself. The album received four and a half stars from the Maverick magazine and performed well on the US Billboard 200 charts rising up to the seventh slot. All the songs in this album were written by him, and the only song which does not feature him as a writer is Indian Summer written by Chris Whitley. There are a total of twelve songs in this album and like his previous work this album also received positive review from major critics. Allmusic gave the album a three star rating. After his third album, Gavin Degraw took some time to work on his fourth album and in 2011 released Sweeter through RCA Records. For the first time in this album Gavin collaborated with a lot of other artists like Ryan Tedder, Andrew Fampton and Butch Walker to write his music. The reviews for this album were mostly positive and the chart performance was exceptional. The album made and appearance in the Billboard 200 at the eighth position and sold more than thirty four thousand copies in its first week of release. Three singles from this album Sweeter, Soldier and Not Over You began to climb the charts in different countries and were appreciated by the fans.
