Los Lonely Boys was formed by three brothers in the year 1996 in San Angelo Texas. The first two albums namely Los Lonely Boys and Teenage Blues were self released and failed to get the attention of the audience. In the year 2004, the band suddenly came into the limelight with their third studio album that was self-titled and released by Epic Records. This album impressed both the critics as well as the music lovers and landed at #1 on US Heatseekers, #4 on US Independent Albums and above all #9 on US Billboard. This album sold around two million copies earning a 2x platinum status in the US.
Los Lonely Boys continued their success with the release of their fourth album titled Sacred that went on sale in music stores in the year 2006. The album showed a substantial increase in the chart position for the band and for the first time entered the US Top Rock albums at top position and landed at #2 on US Billboard. Till date Sacred remains their highest charting Billboard album. The year 2008 saw the release of the fifth studio album named Forgiven, the album did enter the Billboard chart at #26 and #13 on US Top Rock albums but failed to earn any certification. Sixth studio album of Los Lonely Boys was 1969, this album also managed to chart but wasn’t up to the expectations as it was placed at #124 on Billboard. Their latest album till date is Rockpango that was released by Playing in Traffic Records in March 2011. This album relatively did better on charts landing at #19 US Rock Charts, #14 on US Independent album and #70 on US Billboard.
Los Lonely Boys have performed covers of legendary bands like The Beatles, Roadhouse Blues, The Doors and Tony Joe White. They have had a chance to perform with famous jazz rock guitarist Carlos Santana and recorded a song for Santana’s album called All That I Am and the name of the song was “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love”. Some other popular singles by the group include “Heaven”, “More than Love” and “Diamonds”. Los Lonely Boys won a Grammy Award for the single “Heaven” and in the year 2010 at the Austin Music Awards they were named Best Rock Band.
