Morrissey is a singer and songwriter from Lancashire, England. Real name Steven Patrick Morrissey, he is the performer who first rose to fame as part of the 1980s band, “The Smiths”. He not only served as the singer, but also the lyricist, penning many hits for the group. “The Smiths” were hugely popular in the UK and had fast become pop culture icons. But the success was relatively short lived for by 1987, the band broke up. That is when Morrissey decided to embark on a solo career of his own. He did attain the success that he longed for as a soloist—he gained as many as ten chart topping singles.
