James Allen Otto, only 36, has already become one of the most popular Country artists in the US and he is well on his way to become a living legend. He was born on 29th July, 1973 at Fort Lewis in Washington. He began At the age of 29 he began making music with MuzikMafia, the only country music band known for its reputation and belief in 'country music without prejudice'. He was picked up by Mercury Nashville Records as soon as he began his musical career which was in 2002. In a very short time, Otto the big guy has successfully muscled his way in to the main street country music artists and has developed a reputation for some solid songs as a writer as no less than 3 of his songs have been inducted into the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. He got this all after his first album which means he produced a rocking debut album Days of Our Lives.
Even though he was dropped by the Mercury Nashville Records in 2002 but it was only for the good. In 2007, he was signed by Warner Bros Records with which it released its second album Sunset Man. It was even more successful than his first album but it was received positive response both from fans and critics. This album was produced by John Rish and Jay DeMarcus. Both the producers themselves are well established artists, Rich works with Big & Rich whereas DeMarcus worked with Rascal Flatts but became Otto's brother in law later.
The lead single of this album 'Just Got Started Lovin' You' made it big soon enough. The track hit the number one spot on the Billboard Country Music Single of 2008. The track was declared the Number One single country music track of 2008 as per the Billboard end of the year chart called the Year End. The album over all became the no 2 Top Country Albums as soon as it was released which was in April. This album and the popular tracks are some of his best songs to date. Another song which Otto sang in 2008 was very successful. It was called 'The Braves Play Here'. Greg Barnhill and Randy Wachtler produced this single. Some of the other achievements of Otto include his song writing. 'In Color' was the Grammy nominated song which he co wrote with Jamey Johnson. The song won the Academy of Country Music award for 2008. He is currently working on his 3rd self titled album.
