The alum was released with Epitaph Records in March 2006. With Sonny Moore, From First to Last experienced immense success and fame. Sonny Moore suffered from vocal problems and after a successful surgery he permanently resigned from the band and started his solo career. While touring with Atreyu, Sonny Moore performed his last show with the band in Orlando at The House of Blues.

On 27^th February, 2007 Sonny Moore started off his first tour as a solo artist. He also launched a Myspace page showing 3 demos; Glow Worm, Signal and Equinox. This brought him his first performance as a solo artist. On 7^th April, 2007, Sonny Moore played several original songs at a local art building along with harpist Carol Robbins. He performed with the Team Sleep Tour with Team Sleep, Monster in the Machine and Strata. Sonny Moore also made various demo CDs available on this tour which were limited to about 30 per show. Sonny Moore toured North America after recruiting a brand new band lineup. He performed on Alternative Press Tour, with bands like The Rocket Summer and All Time Low. Sonny Moore also appeared on the cover page of Alternative Press annual, 100 Bands You Need to Know issue.

In 2008, Skrillex started to record his debut album with the producer Noah Shain, titled as Bells. Sonny Moore released his EP as a co-release Beat Record labels and mau5trap, with the title Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites in 2010. Sonny Moore also runs an imprint label known as Owsla, which is named after an organization in the book Watership Down. In 2008, Sonny Moore performed in the second annual AP Tour. Tour had bands like; The Matches, Forever the Sickest Kids, All Time Low, and The Rocket Summer along with Sonny Moore. He released Gypsyhook EP on 7^th April, 2009 which featured 3 songs and 4 remixes. Gypsyhook EP also had a Japanese version of Mora. In April 2009, Sonny Moore toured with Hollywood Undead, where he performed with the band name Sonny and the Blood Monkeys. The band has Chris Null on electric guitar, Sean Friday on percussion & beats and drums along with Aaron Rothe on keyboards, turntables, synthesizers & programming.

He released his official debut EP on 7^th June, 2010 which was titled as My Name is Skrillex, it was released as a free download.
