It did a better business, and reached number 24 on Billboard charts.

Third album titled Brave New World was released in 1969, followed shortly by Your Saving Grace and Number 5 the next year. The newer work by the band was appreciated by the public, evident by increasing attendance over their concerts.
The band leader Steve Miller had an accident in 1971 and had a serious neck injury. It interrupted the band’s activities briefly, but their previously completed album titled Rock Love was released the same year. It was a critically and commercially acclaimed album, and despite the difficulties in its promotion by the band due to Miller’s injury, the album did a great business. A, The Joker, Fly Like an Eagle and Book of Dreams released in 1973, 1973, 1976 and 1977 respectively. By that time, Steve and his band were enjoying a good fan following, and they had been recognized greatly by the music lovers. Their music was being considered by the critics as quality work, and it was for this reason that they decided to release a greatest hits album. It was released the next year, and featured the most popular songs by the band between years 1974 and 1978. The Greatest Hits album was a huge commercial success, selling over 13 million copies worldwide.
