Wiz Khalifa was born in 1987 in North Dakota. His parents named him Cameron Jibril Thomaz. As a child, Wiz Khalifa used to constantly travel because of his father's job. As a child, he lived in countries in England, Germany and Japan. Moving to a new place after every few months can get a little upsetting for some but Khalifa took full advantage of it all by learning new things every day. This eventually helped him preen his skills at a multitude of things and that exactly is the quality which has inspired his stage name. Just like everything else, Wiz was good at music too. In 2005, he released a mix tape by the title of 'Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania'. Elated by the appreciation he got, Wiz Khalifa got the encouragement to work on his first full length album after the release of this mix tape.

In 2006, Wiz Khalifa released his first full length album by the name of Show and Prove. For a debut album, this was a major success as the Rolling Stone magazine called Wiz Khalifa the 'artist to watch' in one of its additions. To get that kind of attention from the Rolling Stone magazine is a major success for a rapper itself but for Wiz Khalifa, it was just the beginning of a very successful career. A year later, he won a deal with Warner Bros. Records and released his second mix tape. This was a major success for Khalifa because that was still the absolute beginning of his musical career and he could use all the help he got. Later on, he parted ways with the Warner Bros. Records but only after taking full advantage of the company’s high profile brand name.

Today, the twenty three year old is ranked amongst some of the most popular rappers and hip hop artists of our time and he is still just a kid!
