Zac Brown was born on the 31st of July, 1978 in Cumming, Georgia. When he was seven years old, he began playing classical guitar and a few years later, started playing small gigs in local restaurants, performing cover singles. He went to the University of West Georgia, and during his college years, formed a band which later broke up. The Zac Brown Band was formed later, and is based in Atlanta, Georgia, where the band members met. In the year 2002, when the band's inception took place, they went on a tour of the entire nation, with a tight schedule. They gave 200 concerts in a year, performing at various venues. Shortly afterward, Zac Brown created his personal recording label, which was called Home Grown. He also collaborated with his father in opening up a restaurant, naming it Zac's Place. He and his band gave numerous performances at the venue on weekends. The father and son could not manage to run the restaurant business however, and they ended up selling the place. With the money, Zac bought a tour bus and went on tour with the band, giving performances at various clubs, restaurants and festivals.
The Zac Brown Band has produced four albums so far and have numerous hit songs to their credit such as their debut single, Chicken Fried, which went on to the number one spot on the country charts in the United States and made them the first band in the history of country music to gain the number one place with their first song.
