Ron Wilson was chosen to be the first coach of the team. On the 8th of October, 1993, their first game took place against a team from Detroit called the Detroit Red Wings. They did not manage to win that match but after two other games, the Ducks gained their very first victory against the Edmonton Oilers on the 13th of October, 1993. The game was played on their home ground. On the 15th of December, the team won the first shut out match against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the game ended on 1-0.
The logo of the team has a webbed foot which forms a D. After this, the rest of the alphabets occur and form the word “Ducks” in capital letters. The letters are written in gold color, which is sometimes mistaken as bronze. There also appear black and orange accents which give a three dimensional look on the logo. Their minor league affiliates include the Elmira Jackals who belong to the ECHL and the Syracuse Crunch who belong to the AHL. The team has so far managed to win one Stanley Cup in the season of 2006-2007. They have two Conference Championships to their name as well. They won their first Conference title in the season of 2002-2003 and their next Conference win occurred in the 2006-2007 season. They have not been able to win a President's Trophy so far but have managed to secure a Division Championship game in the 2006-2007 season. Their best season has to date been the 2006-2007 season due to the many wins that occurred for the team during the season.
