Cincinnati Bengals Tickets
Have you seen the movie 'Gladiator' with Russell Crowe as the gallant Roman General Maximus? It is really thrilling to see how he bravely fights the gigantic Roman warriors in the death arena while saving himself from the clutches of charging tigers. Do you want to experience the same thrills in a different arena that relates to the current times? Yes, you definitely can. American football is a sport that replicates the fast-paced action of a Roman arena with the players pacing like warriors to subdue their opponents. Though the game revolves around an oval ball compared to sharp swords and shining shields in the death arena, yet the combating skills in both have a sharp contrast. So how about giving a chance to the Cincinnati Bengals, a professional football team?
With origin in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Cincinnati Bengals are currently members of the North Division of the AFC in NFL. They became part of NFL in 1970 when AFL-NFL merged and record their first two years (starting 1968) as an American Football League franchise. Being the current AFC North Division Champions, the Bengals play at their home ground Paul Brown Stadium in Downtown Cincinnati. They hold their training sessions at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky.
The name Bengals was given by Paul Brown (the group owner) who justified it for the reason that he wanted to make it reminiscent with past professional football in Cincinnati. It was in 1967 that Paul was granted a franchise in the American Football League. Before that, a different Bengals team had also been present in the city playing in earlier American Football Leagues. Furthermore, the city's world famous zoo also included a rare white Bengal Tiger. Then came the task of choosing the logo for Cincinnati Bengals and Brown just selected the word "BENGALS" written in black showing a simple choice.
Brown did not support the rival American Football League, but he annexed with AFL only upon surety that Cincinnati Bengals would gain the status of being an NFL franchise after the merging. The merger was finalized in 1970. Initially, the Bengals presented their finesse at Nippert Stadium. For their very first season, the Cincinnati Bengals captured a 3-11 record even though running back Paul Robinson remained one bright spot. Robinson geared ahead with all might for more than 1,000 yards finally being awarded the AFL Rookie of the Year.
Cincinnati Bengals were lucky that they got highly proficient trainers from the start. In the first eight seasons, the Bengals were coached by Brown himself. His acumen lay in drafting those players who commanded above-average mental agility. Due to this policy, several players proceeded ahead with careers in commentary and broadcasting as well as arts due to being highly articulate. The Bengals switched to Riverfront Stadium in the 1970s, a venue where Cincinnati Reds also used to play. During those years, the team managed to reach the playoffs three times but could not prevail in the postseason games. So much so for the team's history! At present the team continues to outshine other franchises with their zeal. Marvin Lewis was hired as the team's coach in 2003 who made the team achieved higher avenues.
Brace yourself for an American football team that will make you forget Roman arenas. Free your spirit with Cincinnati Bengals Tickets!
