The team has won many awards and championships. It is two times winner of the Stanley Cup Championship, once in 1995-1996 immediately after their relocation and the second in 2000-2001. The year 2000-2001 has proved to be the best in the history of Colorado Avalanche as they have won nearly all the major awards in that season. The team also has the record of the longest selling out streak in the history of National Hockey League, which began in November, 1995 and lasted till 11 years in October, 2006. Nearly 487 games were sold out during that streak. So far over 150 players have played at least one game for the team, out of which, 49 players have won Stanley Cup with the team. Six members (Adam Foote, Peter Forsberg, Jon Klemm, Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic and Stephene Yelle) played in both the games. Joe Sakic has made the highest goals, points and assists in the team. Three members have their number retired from the franchise. Three players (Jari Kurri, Ray Bourque and Patrick Roy) have been inducted in the Hall of Fame of Colorado Avalanche.
