New York Rangers Tickets
Few teams have made such an impactful entry into professional sports as the New York Rangers. Sounding the gong of their dominance in their first year, the Rangers reached unprecedented heights, & the all-conquering juggernaut still serves as inspiration for new teams. New York Rangers are a professional ice hockey outfit hailing from New York City, New York, & they play their games at Madison Square Garden. Rangers play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the NHL. The team was initially one of the first members of the NHL, & remains in the elite "Original Six" group.
The Rangers were founded when Madison Square Garden President Tex Rickard bought a franchise after witnessing the amazing turnout in support of the New York Americans ("Amerks") in 1925. The legendary Conn Smythe controversially backed out of the coaching slot, leaving Lester Patrick to mastermind a brilliant march to a division title in their debut season. Brimming with confidence, the Rangers landed the Stanley Cup in only their second season (1927-28). Success came thick & fast, with two more trophies, in 1933 & 1940, after pummeling the Toronto Maple Leafs in both Finals. A period of mediocrity was followed by renewed belief & two runs to the Finals in the 70s, but the Cup drought led superstitious fans to blame the Curse of 1940, where the management had burnt the mortgage to Madison Square Garden in the Stanley Cup. The resurgence bore fruit in 1993-94, with a keenly contested win in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Vancouver Canucks. Madison Square Garden, "The World's Most Famous Arena", has served as home to the Rangers ever since the team's inception, with raucous 18,200-strong capacity crowds common occurrences during games.
John Tortorella heads an experienced coaching staff aiming to get the best out of Captain Chris Drury & his boys. Glen Sather is the general manager. With a proper selection procedure & brilliant training facilities, it comes as no surprise that the Rangers have provided the game with some brilliant heroes. These include Frank Boucher, Bill & Bun Cook, Mark Messier, & Brian Leetch.
With 46 Hall of Fame inductees, the New York Rangers have an established pedigree. The Rangers have won 4 Stanley Cups, also becoming the first US team to lift ice hockey's coveted Holy Grail. One of the annual managerial trophies is also named after Rangers legend Lester Patrick, & 13 Rangers have their names engraved on the trophy. Brian Leetch also has the distinction of winning the Conn Smythe Trophy for MVP in the Stanley Cup Playoff Finals for 1993-94.
Steeped in a tradition that nurtures the winning mentality, the New York Rangers have left their signature on history. The meteoric rise has been substantiated by a resolute consistency, & the current team can efficiently carry the torch. If one set of fans can be guaranteed a taste of success in the near future, it has to be those with New York Rangers tickets.
