The Oakland Athletics ST is a pro baseball team that calls the West Division of the MLB’s American League home. It is presently located in Oakland and has been playing and practicing here since 1968. The Oakland Athletics ST is a franchise owned by John Fisher and Lew Wolff. It is managed by Bob Melvin with Billy Beane as its general manager. It was established as one of eight charter franchises of the American League in Philadelphia and it won three out of the four World Series held from 1910 to 1914, regarded as the First Dynasty and the Second Dynasty in which the team won two consecutively in 1929 and 1930. During its first fifty years, the team was owned by Connie Mack and it was home to a number of Hall of Fame players including Chief Bender, Jimmie Foxx Frank "Home Run" Baker, and Lefty Grove. It then moved to Kansas City followed by a move to Oakland where the Third Dynasty emerged when the team won three World Championships consecutively from 1972 to 1974. It first started out as a series of exhibition games played after spring training and today also refers to games the teams play against each other during the regular season.
