By the time the 2008 football season came to a finish, Jarret Dillard, the wide receiver was crowned a Second Team All American by the Football Writers Association. Jarret Dillard was the first Rice Owls player to have been selected in such a category in the last 50 years. He was also name as an All-American by Sports Illustrated, and was united by his other fellow team mates there such as Walter Camp, Chase Clement and James Casey.
