Uconn Huskies Tickets

UConn Huskies are the sports teams of the University of Connecticut that participate in the renowned Big Ten Conference as well as the NCAA in Division I-A, with exception of men’s and women’s hockey programs, both of which compete in Atlantic Hockey and Hockey East, respectively. The university’s main sport is football the designated ground for which is the Rentschler Field. Second most popular Huskies sport is basketball played in both men’s and women’s programs, and when on campus it is played at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, while off campus, it is played at XL Center. Their other sports, though not so big as baskball and football among the Huskies, still have a huge following and a considerable success rate. The Huskies have won a total of fifteen national team championships, in addition to which their men’s soccer team was named national champions in 1948 by the ISFA. NCAA did not begin any soccer tournaments for men until 1959. Besides winning several basketball championships, the Huskies’ men’s soccer team has won three national championships in 2000, 1981 and 1948, while women’s field hockey has won two, in 1985 and 1981. UConn Huskies got their nickname in 1934 after the school was renamed Connecticut State College from Connecticut Agricultural College in 1933,  prior to which, the teams were called Aggies. There is an undeniable homophonic link between Yukon and UConn, since in the former the Huskies are supposed to be native. The nickname of ‘huskies’ goes back to before 1939, until which time the school’s name was not changed to University of Connecticut. The Huskies’ women’s teams are also referred to as UConn Huskies, as do the men’s teams.
 
UConn Huskies are made quite a reputation in Field Hockey having entered its Final Fours as many as nine times, and won the championships on 1985 and 1981. It was not until year 2000 that the Huskies attained the status of Division 1-A and four years later became a member of Big East. They had their first-ever bowl win in 2004 in the Motor City Bowl. By 2007, their football team attained an all new national ranking going up to the thirteenth level in BCS standings.  Then in 2010-2011, the Huskies marked the first time in history that a school team played a BCS game alongside its basketball team competing in two Final Fours, in the same year.
 
UConn Huskies are most famous for their women’s and men’s basketball teams since they rank continuously well in their respective divisions, among or close to the top ten teams of the nation. The men’s team is known to have won at least three Division I titles in 2011, 2004 and 1999 won mainly be the efforts of Kemba Walker, while the women’s team have won as many as seven titles in 2010, 2009, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2000 and 1995. In these two programs, the UConns have attained an impressive 10-0 in games played for National Championships.  In year 2004, the Connecticut University emerged as the only and first-ever Division I institute to have won the National Championship in the both women’s and men’s basketball programs in the same year. Its women’s basketball team did not lose a single game in the season of 2010, 2009, 2002 and 1995. In 2010, the UConns successfully played their eighty-ninth back-to-back winning game. They are known well for holding the record of ninety consecutive wins.
