Kiss Me Kate is a fantastic Tony Award winning theatrical musical production which came out in the year of 1948. The lyrics and the music of this wonderful musical have been written and composed by Cole Porter. The plot of the musical revolves around the production of a musical theatrical account of the popular play of William Shakespeare which was known as The Taming of the Shrew. The plot also explores the clash which exists on as well as off the stage between the character of Fred Graham who is the play’s producer, director and star and his opposite starring lady who happens to be his ex-wife also by the name of Lilli Vanessi. Apart from the original Broadway and London’s West End productions of the Kiss Me Kate musical theatrical production, there was also an Italian version of this fabulous musical which effectively opened on the 31st of December in the year of 2007 at the popular Teatro delle Celebrazioni which is in Bologna. On the 8th of June in the year of 2010, there was also a Canadian version of the play which was premiered in Stratford that is in Ontario in Canada. In the early 1990s, this fantastic musical production was a popular choice for being the musical to be performed at the yearly Shaw Festival held at the Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario. There was also a Swiss-German production of this musical play that was premiered on the 30th of December in the year of 2010 in the famous Zentrum Buhne Bottighofen which is in Switzerland. The Swiss-German production of the musical play has a total of fourteen outstanding performances.
