Mamma Mia is a musical based upon the many songs composed by one of the greatest pop and dance groups ever formed, ABBA. This superb international famous pop group topped charts all over the world; in the US, the UK, in Canada, in Europe and even in Australia. The Mamma Mia musical in itself debuted on London’s West End and led to yet another album topping the UK Charts again. The Mamma Mia musical was brought about by Judy Craymer, the producer of Mamma Mia, who came up with this idea back in 1983. She met with the two ABBA members and songwriters, Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus when the two were working on yet another musical, the Chess musical by Tim Tice.
