The Mousetrap Tickets
The Cleverest murder Mystery of all times is in theatres again. The 56 years of relentless popularity has not wane its charm as an astounding theatrical thriller. The Mousetrap is a pure genius of Agatha Christi's imagination and critical thinking. It opened at Ambassador Theatre in 1952 and found its place in hearts of west end Londoners. The Mousetrap is the longest running play ever made in the history of literature. The Mousetrap with its inimitable style is the brilliance of British theatre at its best. The intricate plot enhanced with the spine chilling suspense and thrill shows the genius of Agatha as a writer.
The mousetrap is about a newly opened hotel in the Monkswell Manor. The hotel is started off by a charming young couple, Mollie and Giles Ralston. It's snowing really hard and there are four guests staying at the hotel. An additional traveler also joins them as he ran his car into a snowdrift. Detective Sergeant brings them the sad news of Mrs. Maureen Lyon death in London .He also hints that the murderer is suspected to be in this hotel.
This creates an atmosphere of fear and despair, where everybody suspecting the other person to be the murderer. The air even intensifies when one of the guests is found dead in the hotel room. The speculation has now turned into an evident verity that the murderer is one of the boarders. The erratic young Christopher Wren became the instantaneous suspect of the murder but things become hazier as the story ensues. The end of the play brings a jaw dropping discovery leaving the audiences thoroughly startled and amazed.
The play also follows the tradition that at the end of each performance audiences are taken under the pledge to stay mum about the end. This tradition has been going on for more than half a century to make the ending of the show an exciting revelation for everyone. The Royal history associated with this play makes it discrete and unique for the audiences. This play was presented on Queen Mary, the consort of King George V 's desire when asked what would she like to see on her birthday. She responded that she would like to see something by Agatha Christi and thus she presented this on the radio as Three Blind Mice. The radio presentation was later transformed into a west end London show with exclusive production rights till date. The Play is still under the rights of not being published or adapted as a movie in London.
This is a legendary thriller interlaced with a clever conspire of suspense and adventure. The cleverly devised characters of the play like Mollie Ralston, Giles Ralston, Christopher Wren, Mrs. Boyle and Detective Sergeant Trotter maintain the life like yet eerie feel of the play.
