Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion is a popular outdoor amphitheater near the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee, in the town of Gilford in New Hampshire. The prominent Miller family owned the land originally and used it for weekend excursions, summer holidays and other family entertainments. Cottages started to be made on the land by early 1900s. The Millers continued to utilize the property to host family gatherings and concerts for numerous years ahead. Although the land’s ownership where the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion is located has changed, the family still owns the land beside the pavilion. We are now providing Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion tickets for some of the exciting shows that will soon be held there!
Meadowbrook was built as a venue for summer concerts in the earlier part of 1996, with its original name “Meadowbrook Farm”. The pavilion comprised a temporarily built stage, a lawn to hold the capacity of 2000 people, as well as 2500 moveable seats. After 5 years though, the venue got renamed as the Meadowbrook Musical Arts Center, and the temporary stage soon got replaced by a permanent one.
The venue underwent its main renovations to date in the year 2002. This refurbishment plan involved installation of the pavilion’s roof, as well as 3097 reserved seats, with the capability to be removed if needed for general admissions. Moreover, 540 lawn reserved seats and 2850 lawn general admission seats were also added as part of the renovation. Thereafter, the year 2005 bought the installation of Meadowbrook’s Second Stage which is a tented space with a fully serviced bar, where the local bands perform for concertgoers before and after the actual concerts.
Then in 2007, United States Cellular Corporation signed up a naming contract with the place, which led to its present name “Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion”. In the same year, the venue got nominated for the “Venue of the Year” award by Academy of Country Music. What is more, Meadowbrook is also one of the very few outdoor amphitheaters in New England that isn’t owned by Live Nation Entertainment.
A lot of big names have performed at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion, however currently; Sugarland holds the venue’s attendance record. Their September 2010 concert with American folk singer Ellis Paul was the 2nd time in 2 years that the band produced a completely sell-out show!
